2008 will be an electrifying year here at Cinema is Dope! A new feature will be the posting of Eiga Chirashi artwork from Japan. Featured above is one of the coolest damn movie poster artwork I’ve ever seen. Makes me want to run out and see The Prestige immediately.

It gets no rarer than this - an unbelievable rare image of Harold Lloyd (and notice the person below him) from the famous clock scene in Safety Last! This rare official still dates back to the 1920’s and parts of it have been torn over time. I’m presenting this image largely as is and with no special cropping. Enjoy!
Happy New Year everyone. Have fun while hanging around the clock waiting for the midnight hour to strike and as a safety note - be careful who your standing next to when the new year is rung in, as anyone standing close could expect or try and give you a big wet kiss.

The Japanese story was my favorite part of Babel. Hopefully someday they will have a release with it edited together without the other narratives. As for Brad Pitt’s part I think it certainly was one of his best performances at playing against type.

No clue what the tiger is doing in this kung fu movie pitting snake fist against monkey style kung fu. Regardless, this French poster artwork for my favorite monkey kung fu film is certainly not one you would immediately identify with the movie itself. The video versions of the film to date have all been cut and pretty much make key parts of the movie not make sense. I’ve seen the uncut film print version two times now via Quentin Tarantino Fests at the Alamo Drafthouse, and really love that complete version of the movie.
