Here we have the final Japanese poster on James Bond Day here at Cinema is Dope. I really love how the overall emphasis here, if you look at it closely, is the James Bond signature swirl is used as a kaleidoscope of action, characters and key moments from the film.

About Japanese Poster Artwork Celebration Month:
To kick off 2009, I can think of no better way of doing so than celebrating Japanese poster artwork. The emphasis will be more of western films through the lens of Japanese poster artwork and of course some of my own personal all-time favorites. At a future date I’ll probably have a month devoted to solely Japanese films and their poster artwork. So be sure to tune in each day during the month of January as I have an incredible amount of incredible Japanese posters that will be on display. Hopefully at the end of this I can convert many of you into life long fans of Japanese posters!

I love everything about the construction of this Japanese poster that culminates into a fantastically realized montage. Perfect. Alain Delon and movie poster fans rejoice.

More immaculate behind the scenes photography from Eastern Promises that really show off the spirit that was on its set during filming. Of special note check out the scowl on Vincent Cassel’s face (just off camera and in the bottom left of the frame) as Viggo Mortensen and Armin Mueller-Stahl engage in a heated discussion. This might have been the best overall ensemble cast of actors put into one film for 2007 cinema.

These rare behind the scenes black & white photographs of Viggo Mortensen on the set of Eastern Promises are quite impressive and I’m glad to be able to display them for its growing legions of fans. So many behind the scenes pictures display more workmanship rush to get a shop versus trying to capture what is going on in artistic terms.
