One of the big regrets of 2010 will be not getting a chance to get out to the 2010 International Film Festival Rotterdam for its Kiju Yoshida retrospective of 7 films. What a solid lineup they have selected! I absolutely love this beautiful still from Eros + Massacre and am extremely proud to finally have an image from this film on Cinema is Dope!

Vintage Movie Wallpaper of the Day

1990 Japan re-release poster for Federico Fellini’s La Dolce vita (wiki). With most re-issue poster artwork I’m usually love or hate with no middle ground ever taken. I find this one with its cooking up of several ingredients from the film to be very clever and well done.

Vintage Movie Wallpaper of the Day

Pulp Fiction is hands down one of my all-time favorite films, which seems odd that I’ve met both stars here in this still. With films you love above all others when you come across someone from that film it’s quite remarkable. It’s not about their fame or any of that nonsense, it’s purely about being a diehard cinephile in love with great cinema and eternally indebted for those that make it happen.
