Over at Chud they have the scoop on someone posting the teaser trailer for the latest film from Oliver Stone, which so happens to be a bio pic on the current president George W. Bush. The recurring thing that I’ve heard on the film is Dr. Strangelove as a point of reference for its tone and hint at what to expect. The trailer suggests the surreal Stone style, yet with more seriousness and drama than we might expect. If you were expecting a tip of the hat or wink to suggest some dark humor or irreverent overtones, there is nothing here to suggest it. So perhaps when this all wraps up this will be a drama-satire-surreal bio pic that could possibly be contending for best picture. I’m curious how this will all stack up, visually the film looks great from these first moving images and the cast, while not a perfect match, certainly seem to be bringing their A game here.
