Red (Morgan Freeman): We sat and drank with the sun on our shoulders and felt like free men. Hell, we could have been tarring the roof of one of our own houses. We were the lords of all creation. As for Andy – he spent that break hunkered in the shade, a strange little smile on his face, watching us drink his beer.

 
This film, also one of my favorites, often sits atop #1 voted movies on IMDb and some 16 years later it continues to resonate and inspire.

With Avatar (official site) finally out in movie theaters, I thought it was only appropriate to post this great image from this previous James Cameron film, Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Hard to believe in a year or so it will be the 20th anniversary for this film! I haven’t seen Avatar yet but greatly looking forward to getting out to see it in digital 4K at the Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin, Texas.

This is one of those posters much like the one for his previous Young Thugs film where if you saw it at a glance you wouldn’t think it was for a Miike film. The poster itself brings to mind a whimsical feeling to it that feeds into themes of coming of age, melodrama and youthful nostalgia.
