I still feel that Adam Sandler’s best perfomance was as Barry Egan in Punch-Drunk Love with his perfomance as George in Funny People coming in second. He realizes George as a human character in a real world while still throwing in his trademark approach to humor, singing, voices and irony. The human depths he brings to the table and explores gives his performance a built in edge as it then makes it more immersive for the audience to laugh and feel sad alongside him.

Adam Sandler stars in the tale of an Israeli commando that fakes his death to go after his ultimate dream of becoming a hairstylist. This in and of itself sounds fairly outrageous and with Sandler, Robert Smigel and Judd Apatow involved on the writing end, we certainly can expect a film that is perhaps even wilder than even the trailers suggest!

Romance blooms in one of the best romantic comedies this decade has seen.

With the portrayal of Barry, Adam Sandler shows he can just as easily play complex characters as he can more straight forward comedic ones.

“Designing with blues is not something you usually do because they’re so sensitive on film. But it worked very well for us because Paul (Thomas Anderson) was really interested in replicating the feeling of Technicolor. If you look at On the Town or An American in Paris, they weren’t afraid to use color then.”

Wonderful comedic and upbeat scene in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Punch-Drunk Love.

“The challenge was to create something different by taking a more intuitive, uncharted approach than on our previous films.
