This is one of the better Alain Delon Italian crime films and a must see. Japanese DVD still seems to be the best version of it out there to get. Tony Arzenta aka Big Guns tells the tale of a hit man (played by Delon) deciding to hang up his hat from the mob only to realize once your in there might not be any way out. Filmmaker Duccio Tessari along with Gianni Ferrio (score), Silvano Ippoliti (cinematography), Delon, Richard Conte and Carla Gravina all work together to create a unflinching, brutal and hard hitting cream of the crop thriller, Italian crime style.

One of the all-time great Weird Wednesdays screenings I’ve been to was for this film. Absolutely loved it. I often wonder just how much of a cult following this film has as many cinephiles I meet also note it as one of their favorites. Also known in the UK as The Love Cage.

When he becomes the chauffeur of a rich widow and her beautiful young cousin, he finds himself involved in a web of mystery and intrigue. The Cipra Production was produced by Jacques Bar and directed by Rene Clement.
