Many people have that favorite one single moment in Boogie Nights that stands out from all others. Many others have many favorite moments that they could never place over the other. I fall into the second of these categories and think the texture in the relationship shown between Julianne Moore and Mark Wahlberg is some of the best work I’ve ever seen in a movie. There is just that magic there that grows stronger with each viewing and especially the more you pay attention to just how damn good they are in scenes together.

Blindness, the latest film from Fernando Meirelles (City of God, Constant Gardener) was the opening night film at the Cannes Film Festival this year and can next be seen at the Toronto International Film Festival and Sitges – International Film Festival of Catalonia. The US release is slated for late September with a staggered international release around the same time period (look for it this fall regardless of where you live).
