All the advanced imagery I’ve seen out of this film has looked great, though I’m told the finished film becomes a bit to overly complex and way too forced emotionally. I’m not sure how much it still folds around and follows its director Peter Chan’s favorite Shaw Brothers film, Blood Brothers (Wallpaper) but there seems to still be lots of resemblance to it in various places. The delay in me seeing this is due to my all-region DVD player being fried. I’ve been holding out in hopes the OPPO Blu-Ray player comes out… but it seems to keep getting its release date pushed back.
