Tarantino was in Cannes 2008 for his masterclass which seemed to be highly entertaining. Nice steel tipped boots there.

Over at the Daily Telegraph today they have a short interview with Quentin Tarantino:

“When it came to the chase I said to everyone who would listen, like, ‘I’m a little nervous about this because I want it to be one of the greatest chases in the history of cinema and, if it’s not, then I’m not as talented as I thought I was’.”

I was sound asleep at the 40th Sitges Film Festival when I was woken up with a call asking if I wanted to interview Jungle Julia (aka Sydney Tamiia Poitier and of course everyone in Austin also knows her for the huge character billboards that were up around town while the film was shooting) for Death Proof. I was like, “Hell yeah I do!” I then found out I had roughly 50 minutes to take a shower, walk/run 20 minutes away and prepare questions for the interview. Somehow I managed to get all that done and I think the end result was one of the best interviews I did at their fest this year. I will be posting it either later this week or early next week on Twitch. This haul ass by any means spirit nabbed me many an interview this past two weeks at Sitges and now back in the states I think I’ve gone down 1 or 2 pant sizes.

I should also note I’m very glad I had just seen the directors cut of Death Proof during the pre-fest Fantastic Fest screenings. As it hugely helped me as a refresher for the film and allowed me to be even more prepared for the interview!!!!!

Oddly this is the first time I’ve every interviewed anyone for an actual Quentin Tarantino movie.
