Now this is a pretty damn funny behind the scenes picture of Stephen Chow perfecting his “break from man lady hug move.” Getting such a move down with comedic timing certainly requires careful blocking and dashing choreography.

I would definitely say that I’m with the Twitch writer The Visitor when I say that I’m glad to see the growing and progression of Stephen Chow with each new movie. Though at the same time I do wish from time to time he would go back and just do a laugh a second movie like he did in the 90’s that had next to no time for anything dramatic (see - Love on Delivery or Royal Tramps II. The word on his latest film CJ7 is incredibly mixed at the moment. From everyone I talked to at the recent Berlinale, they were all incredibly divided with one calling it an absolute delight for hardcore Chow fans and another saying it was the worst film of his career. Can’t wait to see this one regardless!

What a great review this one is! The only thing missing is where this places in Stephen Chow’s body of work. Of course this is a movie geek thing done by Stephen Chow fans like myself after we see a new film of his - immediately place it into his body of work on levels of how good it is and separately where it ranks among his funniest films.

It’s certainly not everyday that I set my alarm to wake up at 3am to watch a trailer, but such was the case today thanks to The Visitor who tipped everyone off at Twitch (view here) that the brand new teaser trailer and first real meaty video footage for Stephen Chow’s latest film CJ7 would be debuting online at around 2am-ish time on Yahoo! Movies Malayasia. It’s now online and it will only be up for 24 hours, so watch it quick. I’m sure there will be more video footage and trailers to come but don’t pass up this first chance for what promises to be one wild sci-fi driven Chow comedy, which might be to sci-fi insanity what Chow’s Out of the Dark was to horror. CJ7 looks incredibly promising and looks like http://www.cj7movie.com will Sony’s official international site for the film which hopefully will be launching soon.
