It has been a great ride here at Cinema is Dope. For the month of May 2008, I saw the most traffic ever hit the site, with over 100,000 page views for the month of May. So many thanks to everyone out there who links to my site or supports it.

I somehow missed this when it was posted this year, but one of my favorite movie sites Cine21.com has a nice little write up on Cinema is Dope. Not 100% on what all it says, yet I still am able to get a general sense of it via translating it in Google.

Cinema is Dope will start broadcasting from Austin, Texas this Saturday. I’ve been stuck out in Dallas for a bit but have returned to the wonderful and rocking city known as Austin. Or as Nick or Jette would say, “The A to the N.”

Does feel strange finally being back. Seems like so many new faces in the city. Everyone seems to be sporting a “Keep Austin Weird T-shirt.” In surrounding cities the t-shirts are “Keep (enter city name here) Normal!”

Looking forward to broadcasting from Austin, catching up with old friends and being back in the vibrant film community that is the Drafthouse cinema.

Regular programming will return late Saturday. Until then.

Not to say I have every movie on file ever made but I can certainly see what I can do. I would like to thank everyone that comes to Cinema is Dope and supports it. October was a landmark month for the site in passing 300 posts and in doubling the traffic in one months time. I really just do the site for fun. So many online film sites are geared towards generating traffic and ad revenue only. I don’t care about either. I’m here to share my love of films and post quality restored movie images as wallpaper. Along the way I also like sharing some festival stories of note and photography. This is site is just a very small personal project of mine that I’m really happy to see others out there reading and enjoying. I don’t do too much to market the site so I’m really confused at how so many have found it.

I’m still working on finding the right balance and mix (movie wallpaper, festival notes, etc.,) in daily content. It seems offering a wider variety of daily movie wallpaper works the best and with some daily festival notes. So in the coming weeks expect a much great diversity of movie wallpaper on a daily basis and more festival notes (stories and photography and more).
