One of the goals of this site is preserving film history one image at a time. In addition to that preserving various other forms of film history. Debuting today with this post is going to be a historical look at the Boston leg of Rock Hudson’s publicity tour for “Pretty Maids All In A Row.” Items in this series will feature all kinds of images, letters and other extremely rare goodies. This really will be a fascinating look at both publicity for this film and press at the time of 1971. I’m extremely proud to be archiving for public viewing these rare historical film items! Several items a day will be posted for this series in the weeks ahead.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ROCK HUDSON TO TOUR FOR “PRETTY MAIDS ALL IN A ROW”
CULVER CITY…..For the first time in 15 years Rock Hudson will embark on a major one month personal appearance tour in conjunction with the forthcoming release of MGM’s “Pretty Maids All In A Row”, the sardonic comedy in which he stars with Angie Dickinson and Telly Savalas. The cities he will be visiting are San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta, New Orleans, Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Louis, to meet with key newspaper, television and radio press.
MGM’s “Pretty Maids All In A Row” is director Roger Vadim’s first picture in the U.S., produced by Gene Roddenberry. Co-starring Roddy McDowall and Keenan Wynn, the contemporary comedy-drama concerns manners and morals in a suburban high school.
“Pretty Maids All In A Row” introduces John David Carson as “Ponce De Leon Harper” and features the 16 Pretty Maids. The film was shot on Southern California locations with interiors at the MGM Studio.
