Newly released convict Max Dembo (Dustin Hoffman) runs headlong into an unfeeling parole officer and temporary re-arrest in Straight Time, a SweetWall Production for First Artists and a Warner Bros. release. Produced by Stanley Beck and Tim Zinnemann, with a screenplay by Alvin Sargent, Edward Bunker and Jeffrey Boam, the film is based on Bunker’s novel No Beast So Fierce. Straight Time is directed by Ulu Grosbard, with Howard B. Pine, executive producer.
