“It’s as if I was born on the guillotine. I slipped from my mother’s belly on the guillotine and took her place. Guillotines are hidden here and there around the house, ever since I can remember. Traps exist here and there too, and failure to solve the puzzle earns immediate execution.”

Sometimes life can be a Strange Circus (Kimyô na sâkasu) and even more so in a Sion Sono film. I still really need to see this film again before wrapping my cinematic brain and thoughts and feelings around it. I’m told in real life Sion Sono is one hell of a character! Everyone that has met him seems to have their own wild story to tell.
